Film Your Underwater Adventures With This Tiny Scooter

NEWS TIME: 2020-01-03 04:11:45

At CES, Chinese company Sublue will demo the MixPro, which it claims is the smallest double-propeller underwater scooter to come to market. It also comes with a waterproof smartphone case so you can record your underwater adventures.

LAS VEGAS—If you want to cruise underwater in style, how about a submersible scooter from Chinese company Sublue?

At CES here, Sublue is showing off the MixPro, which it claims will be the smallest double-propeller underwater scooter to come to market. The 1.5-foot-long scooter can achieve a speed of 1.8 meters per second, and run for 60 minutes on a single battery charge.

The scooter also comes with a detachable 1.3-pound buoyancy tank, which can help you to stay close to the water's surface—about 5 meters underwater. Without the tank, the scooter can dive down to 40 meters.

Another feature is the smartphone case mount, which sits on top of the product and is designed to be waterproof. Slide your phone in to take pictures or record video as the scooter glides along underwater.

Watch your speed with the help of built-in LED lighting, which also indicates power consumption and when the scooter's battery is low. Users will also be able to switch between two speeds: 1.8 m/sec and 1.2 m/sec.

According to the product's spec sheet, the scooter weighs 4.5 pounds. However, the same spec sheet mentions the battery comes in at 1.96 pounds, so the total weight may be closer to 6 pounds.

The MixPro is designed for use at swimming pools and in the ocean for both casual swimmers and seasoned divers. Children 8 years or older can use it too. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced, but stay tuned for more details at CES.
